I learned how to make corsages because the sister of my daughter's date actually took a floral arranging class so she made them. I can't say I could do it on my own yet, but it was fun to see the process.
Here are photo's of my daughter's date asked her, it was really cute. And I must admit, he is absolutely adorable.
"Teens from throughout the state gathered for the second-annual Mormon Prom May 10 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Around 350 youth ages 16-18 attended the dance with a Hollywood theme called “A Night Under the Stars,” where they enjoyed dancing, decorations, DJs, plenty of food and a lot of fun.
Three years ago, several teens who are members of the church approached their church leaders requesting a Mormon Prom be held after feeling uncomfortable with some of the music, dancing and attire at their high school proms, not to mention the high cost of attending. They had the desire to go to a dance with other teens that wanted to maintain their standards of modesty and have good, clean fun. Last year, the leaders and youth worked together to make that happen.
The teenagers are encouraged to incorporate creative dating into the evening and gather in groups to have inexpensive meals, rather than spending a lot of money at a pricey restaurant, and to gather again after the dance at homes to play games and continue with the fun. The dance itself is free.
While most of the youth attending are members of the church, a growing number of friends attend – approximately 50 this year."
