During the break, we had a wonderful excurtion downtown.
We walked the skyways of Minneapolis.
We went to the Macy's Display. I don't think we've ever missed a year of that. And even though the last few years have been the same display, it never gets old.
I had to show the girls Angel Food and we had to get a treat.
For Christmas, Aunt E. gave our family a gift card to eat at The Melting Pot. It was our first time eating there, and the girls had a ball.
We ended the night with a little shopping at Macy's afterwards for a new coat for my husband.
Incidentally, we both got new coats for Christmas from my MIL (mine is the purple one I'm wearing in all the photos). The story behind this is when we moved to Minnesota 20 years ago, my graduation present from college was a brand new down heavy duty coat from Eddie Bauer. That thing lasted me 20 years! It was getting dilapitated, so I put a new coat on my wish list. My sweet MIL gave me money for it in advance to do some shopping myself for it so I could get just the right coat to open on Christmas morning. I shopped all over the place at many stores and website. I ended up back at Eddie Bauer with another one of their coats. I'm thankful for down and heavy duty coats to get through the harsh Minnesota winters.
